- National Research Council Assessment of Research Doctorate Programs. Indiana University, along with nearly every other major university in the United States, is participating in the “Assessment of Research Doctorate Programs” being conducted by the National Research Council (NRC). The scope of this project includes a relatively broad, but select, number of doctoral granting programs that are defined in the NRC survey taxonomy.
